Academics
Westside Elementary School is home of the Panthers! Our faculty and staff members strive to provide our 1st - 5th grade students with a learning environment that is positive, engaging, and meets their academic and social needs. Westside Elementary is a predominately open-concept school. The majority of our classes are held in "quads" which promote collaboration amongst teachers and students.
WES is committed to academic excellence. We are so proud of the growth and achievements our Panthers make each year. These are made possible through the work of our teachers, paraprofessionals, office staff, and our cafeteria and custodial teams. Students at WES receive interventions and/or enrichment as needed, as well as, progress monitoring to track their current needs.
At WES, we value the involvement of our students' families and our community. Westside Elementary has a rich tradition of family and community events such as Family Reading Night, the Annual Thanksgiving Feast, SUPER KID recognitions, School Advisory Council Meetings, and Project REACh (Reading Embraces All Children). We believe that family and community involvement is vital to our students' success.
Westside Elementary School has several clubs in which our students can participate. Some of these clubs are: Merry Melodies, Just Say No!, Panther Growl (morning news program), PBIS Patrol, and our STEAM club. These clubs provide students with the opportunity to grow their gifts and talents outside the classroom.
At Westside Elementary School we believe, along with our district, that our goal is to prepare our students to be lifelong learners, self-sufficient, and responsible citizens of good character. We invite you to become a part of the WES Panther Team in doing so!
